WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (for Android 9 and below): To save media to the custom folder ( DCIM/status_saver ). MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (for Android 11+): Required to access messaging app media folders that are not covered by scoped storage. 3.
